Duties: |
- Reports to the Dean, Liberal Studies
- Provides guidance to faculty regarding assessment efforts related to information literacy
- Advises and makes recommendations to the Dean on matters pertaining to library, LAC, information literacy, Art Gallery and tutoring services
- Provides direction and support to reference librarians in areas of information literacy, and reference assistance
- Develops library print-based collections, evaluates and selects online databases, ebooks and other electronic resources in collaboration with faculty
- Evaluates and implements appropriate emerging and innovative library technologies
- Provides leadership in the transition from print-based to online information resources
- Collaborates with individual faculty and academic departments with the integration of information literacy competencies into the curriculum
- Develops, manages and monitors an annual budget in the context of institutional priorities and strategic plan
- Supervises and evaluates Art Gallery, library and LAC support and professional staff
- Manages cooperative and service arrangements with the Atlantic County Library, library consortia and professional associations
- Develops, and recommends, policies, procedures and programs for library, LAC and tutoring services
- Evaluates and ensures that library/LAC and tutoring facilities and technological resources meet the needs for both individual and collaborative research and study
- Collaborates with the art gallery coordinator in accommodating gallery activities and events
- Collaborates with the student affairs area in the provision of library-related assistive technology services and resources
- Oversees the provision of tutoring and related services
- Ensures that tutoring services are aligned with curricular needs and emerging student success initiatives
- Plans, implements and assesses tutoring, online tutoring, tutor/course linkage initiatives, supplemental instruction, and writing and math center services in collaboration with appropriate academic departments and the Dean
- Performs related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements: |
- American Library Association accredited Master’s degree in library science
- Five years of administrative responsibility in an academic library/information commons environment, including experience in budgeting, fiscal management, supervision and evaluation of personnel
- Experience in overseeing the delivery of tutoring and related service at multi-campus sites
- Experience in the design and reconfiguration of library/LAC facilities to meet evolving curricular and academic support needs
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of current and emerging library and information technologies
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with faculty, academic departments and other internal and external constituencies
- Possess a record of effective leadership in the delivery of a broad range of academic support services that promote academic excellence and student success
